Romance of the Three Kingdoms takes place in a chaotic Asia. The Emperor, Hsien, gives a word of advice on giving three people the chance to unite everything under one rule. The three people are known as Cao Cao, Liu Bei, and Sun Jian.

Gameplay: This game can be as long as you want it to be or short as you want it to be. You have the ability to create your own ruler and officers that would govern a new city and overthrow all other rulers. In the process you are able to recruit other officers and draft soldiers. You need to be careful to have enough food for your soldiers and a high enough economy to support your officers. Its all a sense of balance. Every year there are new officers that appear. If your ruler dies, you need to find a successor that would carry on the legacy of the ruler. You also need to look after the loyalty rates. A person with a loyalty of 70 or under is most likely to betray you in battle or lead a revolt in the city. You can fire these people if you choose to do so but recuiting them again is very difficult.

Storyline: There really isn't a storyline to this game but that doesn't really matter in this game. Basically, the main plot is to try to expand while maintaining popular support from the villagers. As you begin to expand, make sure there are soldiers protecting each city. A city without any soldiers will result in being attacked. Once in a while, the Emperor will appear in front of one ruler and give him money and encourage him to overthrow another ruler.

Graphic: The graphics are ok in this game. The battle scenes usually involve a castle type area with little sprite soldiers running around trying to kill other sprite soldiers. Its actually more fun that it sounds here. =)

Sound: The sounds are ok. The background music of your ruler changes when you have expanded to enough villages. Nothing else is unique in this department.

Replay: There is definitely replay value in this game since you have many rulers to choose from and different approaches in becoming a dictator of Asia.

Overall: Play this game if you haven't already. I have, at first, been hesitant to play this game because of name. But once I have been involved with the game, I have actually enjoyed it. This game is actually quite fun. Hopefully, this a great game for those War fans.
